Pimco, the fixed income specialist firm, has appointed Laura Ahto, formerly at Deutsche Bank's custody arm, as senior vice-president and head of operations and administration at its London office.

Ahto takes responsibility for European operations, infrastructure and business management. She will report to Joe McDevitt, head of Pimco Europe.
