Pimco, the US bond giant, has promoted managing director Kristofer Kraus to oversee its private strategies business across Europe, the Middle East and Africa and Asia Pacific.

Kraus, who joined Pimco in 2010 from Barclays Capital and is currently based at Pimco’s office in New York, will relocate to London for the expanded role.
