Piper Jaffray adds nine for media team

Middle market investment bank Piper Jaffray has hired four senior bankers and five other employees from rival Jefferies for its media, entertainment and telecommunications team a week after hiring a former Jefferies banker Mark Leavitt to head the new team.

Robert Cockburn will join Piper Jaffray as a managing director in April. Gregory Dawkins and Peter Lombard will join in June, also as managing directors, and Michael Hirsch will join in May as a principal. All four were former members of Jefferies’ media and communications group, according to a statement.
