Middle market investment bank Piper Jaffray has hired four senior bankers and five other employees from rival Jefferies for its media, entertainment and telecommunications team a week after hiring a former Jefferies banker Mark Leavitt to head the new team.
Robert Cockburn will join Piper Jaffray as a managing director in April. Gregory Dawkins and Peter Lombard will join in June, also as managing directors, and Michael Hirsch will join in May as a principal. All four were former members of Jefferiesâ media and communications group, according to a statement.
