Ambitious plans to make the Square Mile less polluted and safer for pedestrians have moved a step closer after the City of London Corporation’s planning and transportation committee rubber stamped its first transport strategy.
The 25-year plan outlines how the corporation aims to manage the streets of the Square Mile. Near-term projects include efforts to make the area around the City’s tallest buildings greener; developing zero-emission zones and limiting traffic; improving pedestrian crossings to reduce road accidents; and expanding cycle networks.
