Platinum listing underlines investor demand

Shares in Australian hedge fund Platinum Asset Management rose 76% in its first day of trading yesterday, as evidence grows that the strength of investor demand for fund management group listings is showing no signs of abating.

Platinum's listings follows similar issues from Ashmore, which is up 67% since its October float and BlueBay Asset Management, which is up 83% since it listed in November.
