The UK prime minister has confirmed she will hold a landmark parliamentary vote on her government’s Brexit agreement during “the week of January 14”.

May said in a statement in the House of Commons this afternoon that politicians would be invited to begin debating the terms of an exit deal she agreed last month with her European counterparts when parliament returns from its Christmas break on the week of January 7.
