Poland's two largest media companies have played down suggestions that the country's new media bill would make it harder for them to grow by acquisition.

Observers had said the proposed legislation, which would ban nationwide newspaper publishers from buying national TV broadcasters, could hurt the expansion plans of Agora and ITI Group.
