High flyers in European and North American financial services firms are unlikely to see large salary and bonus increases in 2017, a study of the sector has found.

Human resources and benefits consultant Mercer surveyed 42 global firms late last year and found they were seeking to level out pay inequalities within their organisation and provide non-monetary benefits rather than boosting remuneration for staff. It comes amid pressure from low growth and inflation rates.
