Powergen, the UK's third-largest utility company, has turned to house bank Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein (DrKW) for advice as it commences talks with E.ON, Germany's biggest energy company.
David Jackson, Powergen's company secretary, said on Wednesday: "We have reappointed Dresdner Kleinwort Wassserstein in relation to E.ON's preliminary approaches."
