Prebon Marshall Yamane, the troubled London-based inter-dealer broker, has hired Joel Spier to lead the firm's expansion of its base metals business in the US.

Spier joins from Prebon from the AIG Trading Corporation in Greenwich, were he worked as a senior base metals marketer and arbitrage trader.
