Price rises bring credit call

Greater diversification into corporate bonds has become desirable for UK pension funds, according to Watson Wyatt, following price rises for longer-dated UK gilts resulting from a shortage of supply.

'There are strong arguments for funds to make greater use of corporate bond indices,' says Watsons' Nick Watts. 'The evolution of benchmarks which take a hybrid approach between corporate and gilt investment could be desirable.'
