Deal-hungry Principal eyes non-US real estate

The chief executive of the $281bn-plus US investment company is on the lookout for an overseas property manager

US-based Principal Global Investors, which last week bought a 55% stake in fund of hedge funds Liongate Capital Management, remains on the acquisition trail and is on the lookout for a real estate manager.

The $281.5bn investment firm is interested in a property manager outside the US as it bids to diversify its geographical coverage of the asset class and capitalise on investor demand for alternative, higher yielding assets.
