Private bank bailed out by government, consortium of banks

Vienna-based Constantia Privatbank has been bailed out by the Austrian government and a consortium of banks, including Raiffeisen Bank, Bank Austria and Austrian Volksbanken.

"The five banks have formed a special purpose vehicle which takes over 100% of the shares of Constantia Privatbank and the running of the bank," the statement from the Austrian financial authorities said.
