CDC completes first private equity co-investment since 2007

Deal sees $17.5 million of equity co-invested by CDC and emerging markets private equity house Abraaj Group in Indian hospital operator

CDC Group, the UK Government-backed emerging markets investor, has completed its first co-investment with a private equity firm in over five years.

CDC and emerging markets private equity house Abraaj Group has co-invested $17.5 million in Indian hospital operator Rainbow Hospitals. In a statement, CDC said the equity investment would be used to fund the expansion of the business and open new hospitals.
