Private equity firm Towerbrook raises $5.3bn for two funds

Towerbrook Capital Partners, the private equity shop that spun out of George Soros's investment firm in 2012, has raised more than $5bn from investors in its latest fundraising spree.

The firm said on Monday that it has shut its fifth flagship buyout fund on its hard cap of $4.25bn. It raised an additional $1.05bn for its Structured Opportunities fund, which makes non-control investments.
