Private equity giant Carlyle vows to be net zero by 2050

Buyout house sets ESG goals in motion as major private equity firms eye greener future

Carlyle has vowed to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 across its entire investment portfolio.

The US buyout giant’s pledge includes a near-term goal that 75% of portfolio companies’ emissions will be covered by Paris-aligned climate goals by 2025. Thereafter, all new majority-owned portfolio companies will set Paris-aligned climate goals within two years of ownership.
