Mercer Management Consulting, the global corporate strategy firm, has created a practice group designed to help private equity houses identify, evaluate and capitalise on investment opportunities.

Scott Birnbaum, vice president of Mercer Management Consulting and global head of the private equity practice, said the abundance of capital allocated to the asset class has made it a commodity.
