Japanese institutions are expected to triple their allocation to private equity over the next two to five years, according to new research focusing on investor outlook in the country.

The research by Kyoto university and Swiss funds of private equity funds manager Adveq found 25.2% of the 171 Japanese institutions who answered the survey already invested in the asset class.
