While banks and other City firms are demonstrating a huge appetite for testing the blockchain technology for the cost and efficiency savings it could potentially bring, one part of the finance industry has yet to share the enthusiasm  – private equity.

One influential secondaries investor who asked not to be named, said: “I have to confess to not even being sure what the term 'blockchain' means."
