Portfolio companies aren’t the only things private equity firms are paying top dollar for in the current bull market.

Average salaries for North American private equity professionals rose across every level in 2018, continuing a trend of recent years, according to a new compensation survey conducted by executive recruiting firm Heidrick & Struggles, The Wall Street Journal reported.
