Private equity pay could stimulate PLC performance

Private equity remuneration schemes look set to influence executive incentives in listed companies by better linking performance with pay.

According to a report from accountants PricewaterhouseCoopers listed companies are being influenced not only by the need to retain management enticed by private equity-backed firms, but also by performance pressures that "could force a change in attitude if private equity is seen to deliver consistently superior corporate returns".
