Acquisition may prove a boost for Woodford, who wants to sell down his stakes at good prices

Private equity firm TDR Capital has agreed to purchase the owner of WeBuyAnyCar.com for £1.9bn, in a boost for troubled investor Neil Woodford, who owns around 7% of the company.

The private equity house has made a cash offer of 243p per share for BCA, representing a premium of 24.9% to the company’s closing share price of 194.6p on 19 June.
