Probitas to step up European private placement business

Probitas Partners, the San Francisco-based private placement agent, is boosting its European presence by adding staff to its London office over the next six weeks and launching a European fund as one of its first two offerings to investors.

The firm was formed last September by Greg Hausler, Michael Hoffmann and Craig Marmer, all former executives of the private fund group at CSFB. It has recently appointed Dale Meyer from the private fund group at JP Morgan to lead its New York office. Probitas is now focusing on building up its London office, but would not disclose how many appointments it is planning to make there.
