Profile: Robin Budenberg – the bailout banker

Robin Budenberg has been appointed as the new chief executive of UK Financial Investments, the body responsible for overseeing the UK Goverment's stakes in bailed-out banks, where his tasks will include splitting the nationalised Northern Rock in two. Financial News takes a look at the track record of one of UBS' most senior bankers.

Budenberg has been appointed by the Chancellor of the Exchequer Alistair Darling as the new chief executive of UKFI - a position that was made vacant in July after incumbent John Kingman revealed he planned to step down after just eight months in the job.
