Profits slip fails to knock the Icap bulls

Icap, the world's largest interdealer broker, which issued a profits warning in July, has reported just a 2% slip in pre-tax profits in the six months to September.

Michael Spencer, chief executive, said he was confident that full year profits would top the £170.2m made last year.
