Fears of a Brexit-fuelled property crisis have forced anxious investors to pull more than £1bn from UK real estate funds this year, one of the worst quarters of outflows since 2015.
The drop has sparked concerns of a repeat of the disruptive and costly fund closures witnessed after the referendum in 2016, and comes as the political and economic fallout from Britain’s departure from the European Union continues to batter investor confidence. On Friday, MPs voted for a third time to reject the withdrawal agreement struck between prime minister Theresa May and the EU.
