Property is most popular alternative asset class in Europe

Property is the most popular alternative asset class among European institutional investors as they seek to reduce their equity exposure, according to a report by JPMorgan Fleming Asset Management.

The firm's alternative investment strategy survey found that 70% of 341 institutions across Europe had invested in property. Private equity came second with 48% of respondents exposed to the asset class, while hedge funds and currency overlay attracted 22% and 23% of investors respectively.
