Property weighting rises to 40% at £3.5bn UK church fund

The £3.5bn (€5.1bn) investment portfolio owned by the UK Church Commissioners fund has increased its property weighting to 40% following a sharp decline in the value of its equity assets.

The Church Commissioners fund, which funds clergy pensions earned before 1998, has sometimes been criticised for retaining a significant exposure to property, which produced severe underperformance in the early 1990s.
