Prosecutors to push envelope at Bear Stearns trial

It’s been 16 months since Ralph Cioffi and Matthew Tannin were handcuffed and marched to Brooklyn federal court on securities fraud charges stemming from the 2007 collapse of two Bear Stearns hedge fund they ran. Brooklyn federal prosecutors said the men misled investors about the health of the funds, among other things.

So far they are the only former Wall Street execs to face prison since the financial crisis began.
