Prospects brighten for Mena investment

Despite ongoing in troubles in Syria, investor confidence in Middle East and North Africa is picking up following the Arab Spring

M&A activity in the Middle East and North Africa more than tripled in the first quarter of this year, according to data from mergermarket, reflecting an improving investment climate in the region following the Arab Spring.

The Mena region saw $4bn worth of deals closed in the first three months of the year, compared with $1.68bn in the previous quarter. The news comes despite Syria continuing to experience high levels of unrest.
