Providence appoints former BSkyB chief executive

Providence Equity Partners, the US private equity firm, has appointed Tony Ball as a senior adviser in its London office. Ball is currently chairman of the supervisory board of Kabel Deutschland, a former investment by Providence, who appointed him to the board in 2006. From 1999 to 2003 Ball was chief executive of BSkyB.
