It’s been 23 months since he was released from prison, but Tom Hayes still wakes up drenched in sweat and terrified most days. He relives the time in 2012 when uniformed police raided his house in Woldingham, Surrey, turning it inside out. 

Panic inevitably sets in for the 43-year-old, who was convicted of manipulating the Libor interest rate.
