The public inquiry into plans to build a controversial 305-metre high 'Tulip' tower in the heart of the City has cost the Greater London Authority more than half a million pounds to date, Financial News has learned.
Plans were initially unveiled to build the tower in 2018. What would become the Square Mile's highest landmark was backed by Brazilian banking dynasty J Safra Group, and would sit next to the Gherkin at 30 St Mary Axe.
