Frank Quattrone, the disgraced former Credit Suisse First Boston technology banker, has been permanently barred from the securities industry by the National Association of Securities Dealers, the US watchdog.

The move follows Quattrone's failure to testify during an investigation into obstruction of justice and document destruction.
