RPMI Railpen, which manages about £28bn for the UK’s railway industry pension schemes, has recruited a private-markets expert from another of the country’s largest in-house pensions managers.

Andrea Ash joins from Tesco Pension Investments, which manages around £13bn for the retailer, where she was an alternatives fund manager handling investments in hedge funds, private equity funds, credit and infrastructure.
