Rambourg quits Gartmore to focus on FSA investigation

Star manager quits firm to clear his name and return to the industry

Guillaume Rambourg, the star Gartmore fund manager who was suspended earlier this year, has resigned. His departure comes a month after the Financial Services Authority began investigating an internal procedural breach revealed by the firm in April.

A statement from Gartmore to the London Stock Exchange, after markets closed this evening, confirmed Rambourg, who had co-managed the $1.6bn (€1.2bn) Alphagen Capella fund with Roger Guy, had left the firm.
