Rathbones’ chief executive Paul Stockton is the busiest he’s ever been. The FTSE 250 firm’s blockbuster tie-up in 2023 with the wealth and investment arm of its rival Investec resulted in a combined firm that oversees £109.2bn — placing Stockton at the helm of one of the UK’s biggest wealth managers.

The combined business adopted 280-year-old Rathbones’ name and branding. Despite dropping the iconic zebra of IW&I’s brand, the newly integrated wealth manager chose Investec’s London headquarters at 30 Gresham Street as its new home. Rathbone’s staff relocated half a mile from their offices at 8 Finsbury Circus last year.
