RBS fights for universal cause

UK universal bank argues to the Independent Commission on Banking that splitting retail and investment banking would be ill-advised

Financial institutions with investment banking and retail banking divisions are less risky than narrow banks. Or at least that is what this chart argues. Author of the chart? Well, the Royal Bank of Scotland, a universal bank.

The graphic shows that universal banks had lower relative losses, and fewer universal banks required support.
