Royal Bank of Scotland's private equity arm, which showed a significant half-year loss in revenues, has continued its expansion with a new hire.

Royal Bank Private Equity has hired Jim Kottler as investment manager. His appointment is the latest in a succession of 15 hires across RBS's four private equity investment businesses, Royal Bank Private Equity, NatWest Development Capital, Royal Bank Ventures and RBS Property Ventures.
