Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) has hired Alberto Viarengo and Graham Pointer for its European primary markets origination team as it strives to expand its presence outside the UK.

Viarengo joins as head of primary markets origination for Spain and Italy. He was previously responsible for coverage of Italian corporate borrowers in the capital markets team at Morgan Stanley, where he worked for five years. Before joining Morgan Stanley, Viarengo worked for six years at Bankers Trust.
