Royal Bank of Scotland has confirmed the high-profile hire of John Walsh, to head its North American corporate capital markets franchise and lead the push into the US debt market. Walsh is former global head of debt capital markets at Credit Suisse First Boston.

The Scottish bank has also lured Ben Cohen to join as deputy head of the North American corporate team. Cohen quit CSFB around the same time as Walsh last year. Cohen worked as a managing director of CSFB's fixed income e-commerce.
