Royal Bank of Scotland has scooped a share of the £12.5m in fees paid by Advent International after arranging a £204m (€294m) debt package to back the private equity firm's secondary buy-out of Aviagen Group, the world's leading poultry breeding company.
Advent bought Aviagen from rival private equity firm BC Partners at the end of May for £255m, although the all-in value of the acquisition, including fees and other costs, was £267.5m. Royal Bank of Scotland lead arranged a £189m acquisition financing package as well as a £15m revolving credit facility for Aviagen to partially back the buy-out.
