The Royal Bank of Scotland has been ranked as the least popular bank by small UK businesses, according to a new ranking that comes in the same week the bank was again scolded for the treatment of companies after the financial crisis.

The ranking, published on Wednesday, forms part of efforts by competition regulators to make it easier for retail customers and businesses to judge quality of service among the UK's major banking groups.
