Royal Bank of Scotland has made use of a partnership it struck last year with three asset managers to complete a deal that puts it into competition with the growing number of private debt funds.

State-owned RBS has provided a £65 million senior debt package to LDC, the private equity arm of Lloyds Bank, for the management buyout of software business ByBox Group.
