Recession 'takes its toll' on expensive office locations

The world's 10 most expensive places to rent office space have all become cheaper during the past year, according to a new report, with London's West End falling behind central Tokyo as the most pricey. Financial News profiles the top 10 most expensive locations – and why they still might be worth it.

According to a report yesterday by property consultant CB Richard Ellis, the average occupancy of 170 cities dropped by 3% over the last 12 months. Several major office markets, meanwhile, reported occupancy drops of a fifth or more.
