Recovery drives UK returns to 10%

UK pension funds returned about 10% in 2004, according to figures from the performance measurement company Russell/Mellon. It represents the second consecutive year of positive performance following three years of negative returns.

Last year's performance puts pension fund returns back into positive territory over a three-year period, with an estimated weighted average of 3.6% a year.
