Leading Brexiteer Jacob Rees-Mogg has strongly criticised the UK government white paper outlining plans for Britain to leave the European Union, saying it does not offer a “proper Brexit”.

The chair of the European Research Group, an influential group of Conservative MPs, told Financial News: “This has badly misfired with British voters. The Prime Minister has a choice. She has got to decide whether she goes back to the policies she advocated before, or whether she decides to get this policy though on the back of Labour votes.”
