Policymakers may have over-reached themselves in their attempt to regulate the financial industry, according to market infrastructure experts at the Sibos conference.

Hester Peirce, senior research fellow at Mercatus Center at George Mason University, told delegates in a panel discussion that regulators might have "bitten off more than they can chew" when it came to imposing new regulations on market infrastructures.
