French automaker Renault SA has decided to stay in the Formula One motor-racing championship but will finance this by selling off a piece of its racing operations to a new partner.

Renault said Genii Capital, a Luxembourg firm, will buy a chunk of Renault's Formula One unit and help run it, shouldering some of the cost of the expensive sport.
