The Dutch investor association waging a court battle with ABN Amro over the bank's potential takeover has picked a financial journalist as its next director.

The Vereiniging van Effectenbezitters said in a statement today that Jan Maarten Slagter will lead the group after Peter Paul de Vries, the current incumbent, steps down on October 1.
